In LKH Graz, where Austria's only pressure chamber is located, a child is being treated after a serious CO accident.
The dramatic incident took place on Saturday evening: the task forces were called into Hackinger Straße in Vienna-Penzing. There they had to treat a child with classic symptoms of CO poisoning. With the ÖAMTC emergency helicopter Christopherus 3, the child was flown to the Graz LKH, where it is now being treated in the pressure chamber.
Until 2007, a pressure chamber was also available in the AKH Vienna. A treatment in a pressure chamber is not necessarily for survival, but to avoid long-term consequences in the neurological area.
