It sounds like a bad thriller: The former football professional Marc Batchelor is said to have been murdered by contract killers in front of his home in Johannesburg (South Africa). Batchelor was in his car when several shots hit him through the glass.

Batchelor, who played for several South African clubs in the 90s and most recently acted as TV expert, came in 2014 in the murder trial of Oscar Pistorius in the spotlight. Pistorius shot his former girlfriend, Model Reeva Steenkamp, in February 2013 and is currently serving a manslaughter for manslaughter. Batchelor prosecuted the trial and caused a stir by saying that he, too, had once been threatened by Pistorius.
