While Disney still finds out its release schedule, which now includes 20th Century Fox movies alongside the Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, and Disney titles, there are some releases underway. One of the biggest changes is the first sequel to James Cameron's avatar.
While Avatar 2 was originally scheduled for December 18, 2020, the movie was pushed back a full year. Now the second movie will be released on December 17, 2021. From there, the franchise will be releasing a film every second December. On December 22, 2023, Avatar 3 with Avatar 4 will be on December 19, 2025, and Avatar 5 will be on December 17, 2027. In the years when there is no avatar release, a Star Wars movie completes the last month of the year for Disney.
The remaining four films of the Avatar franchise are now filming in succession, with James Cameron returning as a director. According to Sam Worthington, who starred in the films, the story begins eight years after the first film.

The first avatar remains the highest-grossing film ever 2.7 Billions of dollars at the worldwide box office. However, it is possible that this could change quickly with Avengers: Endgame.
As for Disney's other releases, the studio also dates a number of new Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars films and distributed another new release date for the X-Men spin-off New Mutants.
