Avengers: Endgame could have been very different

You can get new details about the movie by watching it with the comment track turned on. The directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo as well as the screenwriters Steven McFeely and Christopher Markus discuss the film together and provide details and insights. Here are 13 of these revelations:

1. Yessir, this is my baby.

The first viewers in Avengers see: Endgame is Ava Russo, the daughter of director Joe Russo. She plays Lila Barton, Hawkeye's daughter, who teaches Hawykeye to shoot arrows at the beginning of the movie. The scene was planned for Avengers: Infinity War, says Joe Russo, but the brothers found it "too confusing" to cut out Thanos' report on Hawkeye's family. (Lia, Russo's other daughter, later appears as a kid in a restaurant that wants to take a selfie with Smart Hulk.)

2. It's about time

Listen carefully to the scene where we first see the time travel suits. Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner / Hulk) explains how time travel works and how it does not work, and Markus says that this is very close to how "true quantum physicists" have explained possible time travel to the authors.

. 3 We all yell

One of the most popular easter eggs of directors comes when the Avengers sit at a table and eats Hulk Ben & Jerry's Hunka Hulka Burnin 'Fudge, one of two B & J flavors that Doctor Strange and Tony like Strongly Discussed in Avengers: Infinity War. (The other one was Stark Raving Hazelnuts.)

4. What Nebula Knows

McFeely explains that Nebula does not know exactly what happened to her sister Gamora, who was sacrificed by her father Thanos. "No one knows anything but everyone who was there," he says. Nebula "just knows that her sister did not come back, and he went with the stone."

. 5 The role of Asgard is played by England

When Thor and Rocket returned to Asgard, the scene was shot in English Durham Cathedral, say the directors. It was one of the few scenes that they shot during the creation of Avengers: Infinity War, but all the while they intended to use them in Avengers: Endgame.

. 6 Baby, you can drive my car.

Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper) is one of the director's favorite characters, says Joe Russo. "It reminds me of Louie De Palma [Danny De Vito] & # 39; taxi & # 39;" jokes Markus. "He's about the same size."

. 7 Butts

Joe Russo reveals that "probably the most controversial joke in the entire movie" comes when Ant-Man Captain greets America's shapely stern, aka "America's ass."

Russo says, "The (line) was hotly debated." It gets even more controversial later when Cap says it's a version of himself.

. 8 The Natural

Robert Redford is featured in the film as HYDRA agent Alexander Pierce, and Markus says that Redford himself said it was his last movie role ever. If Redford says at the age of 82, "I need this case," then you know that you are seeing the (apparent) final scene of a great actor.

. 9 Lola Time

Stan Lee had aged – the filmmakers call it "Lola's" – for his latest cameo, in which a 1970s version of Lee's "Make love, not was" screams out of a car window. His look is based on a real photo of Lee from the 70s.

10th Cravings

Howard Stark, Tony's father, brings along his pregnant wife, Sauerkraut, because screenwriter McFeely's mother longed for it when she expected him. "That's the McFeely easter egg," he says.

. 11 Forever in High School

The filmmakers explain that the time has not passed for the people who were caught, which is why Peter Parker is coming back and is still in high school. But those who were born in the five years when half the world disappeared do not disappear, they continue to exist.

12th I'm Iron Man

The scene in which Robert Downey Jr. snaps his fingers as Tony Stark in the Infinity Gauntlet and says, "I'm Iron Man," is hard to beat. The filmmakers reveal that this was the last scene shot for the film. It was filmed in January 2019 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, right next to the soundstage where Downey completed his screen test for his legendary role 12 years ago. Let the circle be unbroken.

. 13 Bruce Banner's transformation took a turn

The scriptwriters and directors named Mark Ruffalo's eyeglass wearer Smart Hulk and McFeely said his story was originally planned for Avengers: Infinity War. But that moment of triumph was too much for a movie that suffered a series of losses, McFeely said, and so special effects artists cut off the Avengers' Smart Hulk revelation, Infinity War. "I do not think we had enough room to tell this story (in Infinity War)," agreed Anthony Russo.

You can buy Avengers: Endgame now and on Blu-ray on August 13th.
