An eight-month-old girl was bitten by a family dog and died Wednesday morning in Miramar of her injuries, police said.
The baby was in the care of a relative during the incident, Miramar Police Officer Yessenia Diaz said at the scene that was in the 2400 block of Kingston Drive.
Outside the house, a distraught man was comforted by two women.
The breed of dog has not been identified. There were also two other dogs in the house, Diaz said. The deadly bite occurred at 11:30 pm
Investigators from the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office and Broward County Animal Care & Adoption were on-site.
Miramar firefighters were called to this address in response to a dog bite but their called units were not needed, said Inspector Lieutenant José A. Gregorisch.
