EA has shared details of Battlefield V's first closed alpha. The limited-time test started on Thursday, June 28, and allows certain players to test the upcoming World War II shooter before its release this fall, including part of a grand operation.
According to the official website of Battlefield, The Closed Alpha will be available on the PC and can only be supplemented with an invitation, which, as EA says, was distributed to a "small group" of Battlefield players. Invitations contain a code to download the Alpha client that needs to be redeemed via Origin to get started.
Those invited to participate in the closed Alpha can try out two modes of Battlefield V: Conquest and Grand Operation Autumn of Norway. The former is the classic Battlefield multiplayer mode in which two teams fight each other to take control of the main points on the map, while Grand Operation is a narrative multiplayer experience that includes various maps and game types.
The fall of Norway, the Grand Operation shown in Alpha Closed is on the map of the Arctic fjord. Players can try two of their modes: Airborne and Breakthrough. Depending on your side, Airborne will either drop players on the map to fight enemy artillery or stop the incoming troops while Breakthrough conquer them with sectors or defend against the attacking side.
EA also says that participants will be able to perform a special task and multiple daily assignments during closed alpha. The special task consists of several tasks in the game and players are rewarded with a special Battlefield V badge, which is displayed in their profile when the entire game starts.
Daily Orders, on the other hand, are smaller targets that players can fulfill during the game, such as destroying enemy vehicles or killing a particular class of enemies. EA says there are no rewards for completing Daily Orders during closed alpha, but players can earn them in the full game.
More details about the closed alpha can be found on the game's website. Battlefield V is expected to be released on October 19 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, but those purchasing the Deluxe Edition will have access to it three days earlier, October 16.
