A mother bear attacked and injured a 10-year-old boy in Yellowstone National Park on Thursday.

The boy "suffered an injured wrist, stab wounds on his back and wounds on his buttocks," the statement said. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Officials are looking for the bear, which USA Today is likely to be a grizzly bear with at least one boy. They praised the family for their quick thinking.
"This incident could have been more serious." We applaud the family for traveling in a group carrying bear spray, and knowing how to use it effectively during their emergency, "said Pat Kenney, deputy superintendent of Yellowstone National Park, in a statement, USA Today reported.
