BRUSSELS (AP) – Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon says a man who killed two policemen and a spectator in Liège on Tuesday killed another person the day before the attack.
Jambon told broadcaster RTL Wednesday that the shooter, identified as Benjamin Herman, "also committed a murder the night before."
Jambon confirmed that the person was a former inmate detained with Herman. Herman is said to have killed the man on Monday night by slapping him over the head with a blunt object.
Herman was killed in a shootout Tuesday after he stabbed two female police officers and stole and shot their small arms. He also shot a man sitting in a nearby car.
