Those along the Space Coast could witness an amusement on Friday night as a United Nations Alliance Alliance Delta IV missile hit the ground and lit the night sky at 8:26 am, March 15th from Cape Canaveral's Air Force Station Launch Complex 37.
It was the penultimate flight of the mid-range rocket that sent the Air Force's broadband spacecraft (WGS-10) into orbit. ULA is not targeting the last single-stick Delta IV launch before July.
In the meantime, SpaceX plans to launch its Falcon Heavy missile from the Kennedy Space Center Pad 39A in April while ULA prepares. The same month, the first unmanned orbital flight test of the Boeing CST-100 Starliner capsule was launched Atlas V rocket as part of NASA's commercial crew program.
