BH90210 Showrunner, several authors quit Fox Series Revival – Variety



There's a behind-the-scenes drama about Fox's upcoming revival of "Beverly Hills 90210" – well, "Beverly Hills 90210".

Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith and several high-ranking authors have finished the series with six episodes. which is titled "BH90210". The exact reason for the exodus is unclear. According to one source, it was a conflict between two main characters in the series, while another noted that the authors were dissatisfied with one of the executives supervising the project.

Paul Sciarrotta, along with creator of the series, Chris, has been named the new Showrunner Alberghini and Mike Chessler. Sciarrotta currently has an overall agreement with CBS Television Studios to produce the series.

0" will debut on August 7 at Fox. Original series stars Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth and Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling are all returning. In the series, the actors will not play their characters from the show, but an enhanced version of themselves. Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori, who have gone their separate ways since the end of the original series 19 years ago, reunite when one of them suggests tackling a reboot of "Beverly Hills, 90210" ,

The new series met with great interest. The first teaser trailer reached 18.4 million views on various platforms.

"BH90210" is produced by CBS Television Studios and Fox Entertainment. Sciarrotta, Alberghini and Chessler will co-appear with Carteris, Garth, Green, Priestley, Spelling, Doherty and Ziering as the executive producer network. Broadcasting for 10 seasons, it spawned several series based in the same universe, including The CW's "90210" and Fox's "Melrose Place."
