Bollywood star Deepika Padukone interviews drug tube in India | India

Top Bollywood star Deepika Padukone was questioned by the Indian drug authorities in an escalating drug investigation after young actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away earlier this year.

Padukone, 34, arrived at the Narcotics Control Board (NCB) office in Mumbai on Saturday after receiving a subpoena earlier this week during a shooting stint at the western beach resort of Goa. According to media reports, no drugs were seized from her.

The NCB launched the Bollywood drug probe after the death of 34-year-old Rajput, whose body was found at his residence in Mumbai in June.

According to local media, Padukone was asked if she had procured prohibited drugs for consumption after intercepting phone messages about inquiries from local contacts.

She is among more than a dozen Bollywood professionals questioned by the NCB over the past two weeks about the film industry’s alleged links with drug traffickers and cartels.

Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash was interviewed on Friday.

Earlier this week, TimesNow TV broadcast sections of a WhatsApp conversation about obtaining hash, claiming the two interlocutors were Padukone and her manager.

At least three other Bollywood actresses – Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh – have also been summoned by the NCB.

Kapoor and Khan, both daughters of famous Bollywood actors, appeared in front of the agency on Saturday while Singh’s testimony was taped on Friday.

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who has also been a target of television channels and social media users since Rajput’s death, said in a statement Friday that allegations were made about drug use at a party he hosted at his residence last July “Wrong and wrong” are unfounded “.

Johar’s response came after an old video of a star-studded party at his residence hit social media.

While an investigation into Rajput’s death continues, the saga has turned into a government investigation into drug use in Bollywood, a multi-billion dollar film industry.

Rajput’s death also sparked media frenzy with India’s news networks, which speculated that his former girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty, led him to commit suicide with narcotics and even black magic.

Rajput’s family denied reports that he was suffering from depression and openly accused 28-year-old Chakraborty of stealing his money and molesting him.

The actress, who denies any wrongdoing, was arrested earlier this month for allegedly buying cannabis for Rajput. Her arrest came after she and her family were persecuted by the media for months.
