The difficult road to producing the latest James Bond movie has taken another hurdle after shooting was stopped after injury to star Daniel Craig. According to the British newspaper The Sun, the actor fell over during a sprint on the set in Jamaica last week and was flown to the US for X-rays, which led to a cessation of the shoot.
The newspaper cited an unnamed source that Craig was shooting one of his last scenes in Jamaica. "He sprinted during filming as he slipped and fell awkwardly," the source said. "He had a lot of pain and complained about his ankle."
While it is unknown how long the production could be delayed, The Sun reports that filming at the legendary London Pinewood Studios should begin. The end of the week was canceled.

It's not the first time that Craig, who performs many of his own stunts, has been injured on the set of a Bond movie. In his first stunt scene for his Bond debut in "Casino Royale" he had knocked out two teeth. Quantum of Solace suffered a number of injuries, including the cutting of a fingertip and the tearing of a shoulder muscle; and injured his knee during a fight scene for his last appearance as a Superspier in Specter 2015.
A possible production delay would be the final setback for Bond 25 after a problematic script process involving director Danny Boyle left the project for creative differences with the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, which led to a delay in the start of production and a later delay in the planned release, originally scheduled for October 2019. The release is currently scheduled for the 8th of April. 2020.
The full cast of the new adventure was announced in April when production officially began. Oscar winner Rami Malek confirmed to play the villain of the film. Other new additions include Ana De Armas, Lashana Lynch, David Dencik, Billy Magnussen and Dali Benssalah; Recurring performers include Lea Seydoux, Jeffrey Wright, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, Naomi Harris and Ralph Fiennes. Locations are London, Italy and Norway.
Cary Joji Fukunaga is directing a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns and Phoebe Waller Bridge. The title has yet to be announced.
Broccoli announced that the film would begin with the spy "Enjoy yourself in Jamaica". The official logline states that Bond's "peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter [Wright]" appears from the CIA and asks for help, and the mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more insidious than expected and leads Bond on the trail of a mysterious rogue armed with dangerous new technology.
