Well over two years after its release in 2017, The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild still provides surprises for the players – and the latest discovered could be one of the best ever.
People noticed similarities between Lurelin Village, located to the south of the map, and Outset Island, the starting point for Links Adventure's The Wind Waker in 2002. GameXplain has put together a short video that shows the similarities, and it's breathtaking that it got us under the nose all the time.
The layout of the village is more than familiar, while the telltale lookout is positioned exactly in the right place – and from the top of the pole, the similarities are undeniable.
It's not the only place in Breath of the Wilds Hyrule to resort to older games, of course, with Lon Lon Ranch – and Hyrule Castle. And it suggests that there are more secrets to discover in Breath of the Wild – just last week, players discovered an underwater ecosystem that had previously been sealed off due to a breakdown.
We'll probably still find new things in Breath of the Wild, beyond the point where the recently announced sequel is released – whenever that may be.
