The Boston Bruins had to wait a bit to make their first selection for Day 2 of the NHL Draft after losing their second round in a trade against the New Jersey Devils for Marcus Johansson.

But when the final leg of the third round was over, the Bruins opted for the left wing Quinn Olson with the 92nd overall victory.

The 18-year-old showed good chances in the Okatoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League last season, beating 20-46-66 in 54 games. The native Calgaryerin has committed herself to the college in Minnesota-Duluth. This is the alma mater of Bruins striker Karson Kuhlman and also an NCAA tournament winner -10, 170 pounds. In the NHL Network broadcast of the draft, he drew comparisons with Matt Calvert, the winger of the Colorado Avalanche, regarding his style of play.

It was the second option of the draft for the Bruins, which occupied the center of John Beecher on Friday night with the 30th election.
