Bucks Game 2: Giannis Antetokounmpo leads Milwaukee past Toronto with 30 points

The Milwaukee Bucks dominated the Toronto Raptors (125-103) in Game 2 and defeated the Eastern Conference 2-0.

The Bucks took the lead at half-time with 64:39 and never looked back Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points and got 17 rebounds and five assists. Milwaukee had six players in the double-digit range, three of them from the bank.

Milwaukee led Wire-to-Wire in this victory as they will attempt to take the lead in Game 3 by 3-0 when the series moves to Toronto on Sunday night.

Here are three takeaways from Game 2.

Teamwork money gain, Bank exploded

While Giannis Antetokounmpo was spectacular in Game 2 ̵

1; 30 points and 17 rebounds – it was the team's effort and game made by Milwaukee's bank the difference in this game. Six players and three players from the bank posted double-digit results, with Ersan Ilyasova's 17 points clear in 7-of-11 shooting. For the record, Ilyasova scored just seven points in 14 minutes from the bench in Game 1 and had entered that game in the postseason with an average of just 6.3 points in 18.8 minutes per game.

The bucks' bench and role players are the reason why they hold a 2-0 lead – and why they could eventually win this series.

Raptors have a big matchup problem with Gasol.

As good as Marc Gasol in the postseason series against the Philadelphia 76ers Joel was Embiid, in this series he has been completely useless so far. Nobody in the money posts, while his big men – Nikola Mirotic and Brook Lopez – shoot with three hands, and Giannis just wants to ripen.

Gasoline does not have the speed to keep pace with Giannis and him. I can not rule out Mirotic or Lopez. While Lopez made no great effort tonight, Mirotic made 5-of-10 shots with his 15 points and six boards.

Raptors head coach Nick Nurse seems to have recognized this and given up on Gasol – he did not play it at all in the last 18 minutes of the game.

The last statistical line of gasoline looked like this – two points in the 1-9 shooting, five boards and a plus / minus value of -14 in just 19 minutes of playtime.

It's one thing to be defensively weak – but being offensively weak in this series means you have nothing to contribute, which means you have to be on the bench.

Kawhi receives no help from the supporting role, whether or not Kawhi Leonard would receive help from Torontos Bank in the final of the conference. While performing a great performance by Kyle Lowry with 30 points in Game 1, he did not receive any such help in Game 2.

While the Bucks 'bank trio, Ilyasova, George Hill and Malcolm Brogdon, came out to play Raptors' role-players did not do it. Leonard scored 31 points with an efficient 10-of-18 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity strip. In the meantime, Lowry's playoff fights continued as he came off the field with a 4-of-13 win from the field and a 2-of-9 win. Not only was he sick of the field, but he also contributed only four assists as the Bucks killed the Raptors with their ball movement and scored 27 assists compared to Torontos 19 for the game.

I already mentioned how bad Gasol was in the game. Now, let me mention that Pascal Siakam was still a non-factor as he scored only eight points on 4-of-9 from the field, with a worst-game score of -21 plus / minus. The four Raptors outside of Kawhi combined for just 33 points on 11 of 37 points from the field (29.7 percent) and 4 out of 17 points from the 3-point area (23.5 percent).

For comparison: The Bank Trio of Bucks, Ilyasova, Hill and Brogdon, scored 44 points at 17-of-29 (58.8 percent) and 6-of-14 (42.8 percent) out of the Distance.

When a team's bench trio outperforms and surpasses four of your five starters, that's a recipe for disaster.
