The Buccaneers will see the colt monkey and raise a bird.
Via Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times the NFL has announced that the Buccaneers are the third tip-pickers to be notified to an announcer of a parrot . Yes, a parrot. At least there is a connection between the animal support and the team's nickname, since buccaneers are pirates and pirates (for some reason) with parrots sitting on their shoulders. (That would explain why pirates often smell like bird protectors.)
Last year, Mike Mayock of the NFL Network wanted the orangutan to come out of his lawn, and the display danced on the line of disrespect for the people of Indianapolis Zoo, which was probably invited by someone with the NFL, who thought it would spice up a phase of the design that usually entails far less organic intrigue and excitement than the early rounds.
Get ready to bristle Mayock this year, the bird says, "Polly wants an Akrum Wadley."
