Bugatti unveiled its stunning supercar Divo on Thursday in Monterey, California, showing a $ 5.8 million luxury French vehicle.
Named after the French racer and two-time Targa Florio winner Albert Divo, who won several races in the Type 35 Bugatti, the supercar Divo Bugatti wants to lead the way into the future.
"To date, a modern Bugatti has shown a perfect balance between powerful, straightforward dynamics and luxurious comfort," said Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann in a statement.
Compared to the Bugatti Chiron, the Hyper Grand Tourer, the Divo is much more focused on driving dynamics. The Hypercar is 77 pounds lighter, while its aerodynamics produce an additional 198 pounds of downforce.
"The Divo has a lot more performance in terms of lateral acceleration, agility and cornering, and the Divo is suitable for cornering," added Winkelmann.
Both Divo and Chiron share Bugatti's 1,500-quad-turbo W-16 engine. The company did not reveal the zero-to-60 mph time of the Divo, but has confirmed that its top speed is limited to "only" 236 mph.
The car carries key elements of other classic Bugatti brand cars including the horseshoe-shaped grille, the famous Bugatti signature line on the vehicle side, and the familiar fin, which shows the car's longitudinal axis when viewed from above.
"The Divo is another example of our design philosophy, Forms Following Performance." In this case, the engineers and designers wanted to create a vehicle that focused on cornering and lateral dynamics, "says Achim Anscheidt, Design Director of Bugatti Automobiles, in a statement.
Parts of the car are painted in the color "Titanium Liquid Silver", while other parts in "Divo Racing Blue" have two distinctive shades that were specially developed for the Divo.
If you have not ordered a Divo yet, you are already too late. After the limited edition of 40 vehicles from Divo has been shown to a handful of selected Bugatti customers, it is sold out.
