Mickey Callaway told reporters before Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals that Jacob deGrom might not need an MRI on [Monday] on Monday.
Callaway said the right. Hander would still be examined by team doctors, but he feels well enough that an MRI is not required.
The 30-year-old was seen hooking in the left field at Busch Stadium after it was reported Friday that his elbow is "barking".
As a result, the Mets retroactively placed him on April 14, the last start he made against the Atlanta Braves. The team expects to be activated on Friday, April 26, to kick off a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers at Citi Field.
