Washington Capitals Winger T.J. Oshie had broken his collarbone when Carolina Hurricanes striker Warren Foegele pushed him into the boards on Thursday and underwent surgery for injury. He is "almost sure" for the playoffs.
Oshie was injured in the third phase of Game 4 of the playoff series of the first round of the team and was on the ice several minutes after the hit. He went directly to the locker room and held his right arm.
The captain of Washington, Alex Ovechkin, called the incident a "dirty game" by Foegele, who received a minor penalty, but the rookie will have no extra discipline ahead of him.
"I tried to lift his stick and give him some nudge," said Foegele on Thursday. "It was a rather unfortunate game there, I did not try to hurt him or anything, I hope he's okay."
Oshie missed Game 5 on Saturday, with Washington winning 6-0 and taking the 3-2 lead
