GLENDALE, Arizona – The Cardinals of Arizona launched a defensive battle against Darius Philon on Saturday after being arrested Friday morning.
Philon was arrested on Friday at 11:06 am and charged with a deadly weapon for grieving bodily harm. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
The arrest was the result of a police investigation into allegations that he threatened to shoot a dancer who had received a copy of the police report in front of a strip club in May, according to TMZ.
Prior to Philons release on Saturday, Cardinal Cliff Kingsbury said that the team's legal process as well as the NFL's proceedings in this case would drive forward.
"Obviously, we are aware of the situation and the serious allegations," Kingsbury said. "It was reported to the league."
Kingsbury declined to comment and declined to answer a question as to whether Philon had been suspended by the team. He was not in training on Saturday.
