Catherine Zeta-Jones tells the secret behind her The permanent union with Michael Douglas maintains "a very open relationship".
The 49-year-old Welsh actress said to "Today," hostess Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb Tuesday that she and her husband of nearly 20 years are completely open to relationship work despite maintaining careers in Hollywood and public scandals.
"First of all, I'm so happy we made it together for 20 years," said Zeta-Jones. "It was great, but I think it's just unfathomable that you're with a person for 1
"… Michael and I have a very open relationship. If you have children who have not asked to be born into a world where they are being studied or studied … They must be open and honest and share things that people in the drugstore probably will not share at the counter would. And when it comes to the 74-year-old Douglas, Zeta-Jones insisted that he was "fine".
When the 46-year-old Guthrie picked up on allegations against Douglas who attacked Douglas this year, Zeta-Jones revealed that the family "shares everything around the table."
"I'm a big European kind of family girl," she said. "And so everything is distributed around the table …. And I think you clear the air. And everyone knows what's going on. It is not a big surprise. "
Zeta-Jones's statement comes only days after she told the Times of London she was deeply hurt when Douglas was charged with sexual misconduct.
"My children and I were deeply devastated. "Zeta-Jones admitted on Sunday. "And I was torn, where my absolute morals lie. This woman came out of nowhere and accused my husband. I had a very big talk with him, with the kids in the room, and said, "Do you understand if more is coming out?"
In January of this year, journalist Susan Braudy claimed that 74-year-old Douglas masturbated at a meeting in the late 1980s when she worked for his production company. Douglas then told Deadline that the claim was "a complete lie, a fake, not a truth."
"My kids are really upset to go to school [and they have] and worry that this will be the case in an article about being a sexual bullhorn about me," the actor said at the time Terrified and very uncomfortable … I am amazed why this comes out after 32 years. "
Zeta-Jones and Douglas have been married since 2000. They share an 18-year-old son named Dylan and a 15-year-old daughter named Carys Douglas is also the father of 39-year-old son Cameron from his previous marriage to Diandra Luker, which lasted from 1977 to 2000.
Zeta-Jones, a public supporter of the #Metoo movement, Douglas and she added and to her children that "there is no story here and will tell this time."
"There was nothing there to support it," she said. "For every allegation that is not substantiated, that beats the movement back by 20 years."
However, Zeta-Jones added: "It was a really difficult situation for me and at the height of it all was uncomfortable." And while there may be ups and downs in their marriage, this is being scrutinized by the media. She is not the kind of person who "throws in the towel very quickly or anything". Braudy previously told the Hollywood reporter that the star of the "Fatal Attraction" has sexually harassed her several times. Braudy claimed that the Academy Award winner, who was in the prime of his career, commented on her performance and spoke openly with his actress Kathleen Turner and a European heir to his affairs. She claimed that Douglas had said inappropriate things to her.
Douglas responded to the allegations by also saying that The Hollywood Reporter Braudy's claims were "an unfortunate and complete fabrication" of hostile workplaces. "
" Rough language or content conversations with my friends who may have troubled them are far from harassing, "Douglas said." Proposing this is a real disadvantage for those who have actually experienced sexual harassment and intimidation. "
Braudy told the Hollywood reporter she was not surprised "that Douglas was beaten against her."
"I think that's part of the problem, as well as his pretense of victimization," Braudy said. "These are some reasons why so many women do not recount their stories – Lord knows it took 30 years and I need a movement to bring my courage together."
