Chief Executive Vic Neufeld will resign from the Canadian manufacturer of marijuana, Globe and Mail, Canada on Thursday night. An official announcement is expected on Friday, Globe and Mail said. Neufeld is expected to stay until a replacement is found. The newspaper said the company would look for "a prominent executive with global expertise" to fill Neufeld's position. The company also publishes quarterly results on Friday. In early December, the Aphria share collapsed after their deal was attacked by a short seller. A company backed by a billionaire Ohio family launched a hostile takeover bid at the end of December, although these efforts had some red flags. Aphria is one of the largest producers of marijuana in Canada with a market capitalization of about $ 2 billion.
