Mohamed Salah played for the Roma in 2016-17, but after scoring 15 goals in 31 games, he was sold to Liverpool. One of the blows of the Roma fans at the time was that Salah was able to take good positions but was not good enough.
The Liverpooler failed in the first half The Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday against their former club has scored two great goals, convincing not just the Roma but the rest of the world. In the second half, he scored two assists, one for Sadio Mane and one for Firmino, in a game that ended 5-1 for Liverpool.
They were his 42nd and 43rd goals in all competitions this season.
First, after a strong passage from Liverpool's game, Salah's team-mate Sadio Mane saw some golden opportunities to miss.
Salah, on the other hand, did not waste his chance.
This is not a shot a goalkeeper keeps alive. And while Roma fans in the run up to some of the calls will be curious (Edin Dzekos call for fouls, the referee has not heard at this half), you can give Salah in the DFB-Elf no place
fans in Cairo enjoyed this Aim.
Then a few minutes later he did so:
Unpacking the box, a touch with Firmino, a few dribbles, and then it's nothing but pace … and a brilliant, clever finish over which the goalie has nothing could align.
It was only halftime, and Salah not only showed his class, he did it in what is arguably the biggest match of his life, and answering all the questions that people might have had about him as PFA Player of the Year.
(It should still have been De Bruyne, but, well, this is a solemn Salah blog that does dope stuff, so do not let us do that.]
Things came in the second half even more out of control.
The third came here to find Salah again, this time to find Mane.

Then Salah was regained and added another assist to find a Roma defender and Firmino at the back post.
Let's throw a fifth, Firmino again, from a corner. Sorry, did we say the Mo Salah Show? We said "The Salah and Firmino Show".

At this point I'm dizzy. I do not know what happens. Salah was deflected off in the 74th minute as Liverpool rested their star in the final 15 minutes of the Champions League semi-final . WHAT WERE GOOD?
Then, of course, Liverpool decided to give his fans a heart attack.
Roma pulled back two – the first came from Dzeko after a serious mistake by Lovren.
Minutes later Perotti pulled back a second, this time from the spot after a handball in the box was called.
This is the experience of Liverpool in all its glory. I need a nap.
