Chick-Fil-A Proposes Poway Location – Pomerado News

The Poway City Council will decide on Tuesday night whether Chick-fil-A can build a restaurant where the former Coco's restaurant now stands.

The 6,400-square-foot building at 13464 Poway Road, vacant for two years, would be demolished and replaced with a new 4,584-square-foot restaurant and dual-pass order lane. The parking lot of the Poway Town and Country Center around the new restaurant will be redesigned for transit. A traffic study created as part of the application found that the site can handle secured transit vehicles. During peak hours, the company hires people along the queue to process grocery orders. The restaurant will provide 26 on-site parking and a further eight in the retail center, according to a report prepared for the council meeting.

The City Council first learned of the proposed use during a 201

6 pre-development conference. At the time, the company was looking for a zone change so that transit could be allowed with a use permit. The zone change is no longer required after an updated Poway Road Specific Plan has been adopted.
