Children confront Senator on Green New Deal. She completes her

A group of children confronted Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Friday morning and asked them to vote for the Green New Deal.

But the senator did not have it.

"Do you know what's interesting about this group? I have been doing this for 30 years. I know what I am doing. They come in here and say, "It has to be my way or the highway." I do not answer. I have been chosen. I just ran. I was voted for by almost a million votes and I know what I'm doing. Maybe people should listen a bit, "said the California Democrat.

A video of the meeting in front of the Democratic office in San Francisco was posted on Twitter by Sunrise Movement, an advanced climate change group.

Feinstein, who has not committed to supporting the environmental proposal promoted by the most progressive members of the Democratic Party, told the group that she knew more than she did.

When a teenager told Feinstein that part of her duties as an elected leader was listening to her constituents, Feinstein asked how old the girl was.

"I'm 1

6, I can not vote," said the girl.

"Well, you did not vote for me," Feinstein replied.

When the senator told the group of children aged 7 to 16 that she supports an alternative that does not go until the Green New Deal, an older member of the group said it was not good enough.

"Well, you know better than me. I think you should one day run for the Senate. And then you do it your way, "Feinstein said. "In the meantime, I've just won a big election."

Feinstein said hours later that she presented the group with a motion for a resolution detailing the fight against climate change. The Senator did not specify these details in their statement, but said that she plans to announce the resolution soon.

"Unfortunately, it was a brief meeting, but I want the kids to know that they have been heard loud and clear. I am and I am obliged to do everything I can to enact a real and meaningful climate change legislation "she said.
