China plans to build a lunar base near the Moon's Pole

According to Xinhua state news agency, China plans to build a scientific moon research station in "about ten years" The South Pole of the Moon, Zhang Kejian, head of CSNA, said in a public statement, Xinhua said. This is a bit of a departure from NASA's six successful Apollo moon landings, which took place nearer the equator of the Moon between 1969 and 1972.

The details of China's long-term lunar plans are still sketchy, but CSNA has made significant progress exploring the moon. Earlier this year, the Chinese managed to land the unmanned Chang'e-4 on the other side of the moon, and they placed astronauts aboard the two Tiangong-1 and Tiangong-2 temporary space stations. Their space agency also plans to bring a larger, more durable station into orbit in the coming years.

The first parts of this permanent station will be the orbit of the country's new Long March 5B rocket reach the first mid-2020, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP); The mission will not be connected to the International Space Station. The ISS has reached the end of its operational life, and the United States and China are not cooperating on space flights.

Kejian also announced that Chang & # 39; e-5, an unmanned lunar lander originally scheduled for 201

7, will attempt to reach the moon and return to rehearsals in 2019, Xinhua reported.

According to the AFP, China currently spends more space flight space than any other country except the US. At the moment, the US can not bring humans into space without taking a Russian rocket. Plans to change this model to profit-oriented missiles – such as SpaceX's – are being changed. However, American officials have also suggested that there are plans to stay on the planet for a long time in the near future.
