SINGAPORE – Burger King Singapore raised customers on Friday (March 30) with a video of its alleged "coming" offer: A Chocolate Whopper
The decadent brew shows a "flame-grilled chocolate patty" between two chocolate cake rolls drizzled with raspberry syrup and garnished with white chocolate rings and candied blood oranges.
If you think that's appetizing, maybe it's time to quell those starvation attacks – the move is probably a joke of early April Fool's joke. This year, the opportunity falls on a Sunday and the Easter weekend no less, causing some retailers to start their jokes earlier to catch the crowd.
On Saturday, the juice chain Boost Singapore released a photo of their alleged new offering, the "Nasi Lemak Smoothie"
"We know you love Nasi Lemak, so here it is! Introducing the Nasi Lemak Smoothie is available on April 1
In other parts of the world, at the beginning of April, jokes seem to be the trend as well.
In America, the confectionery brand Reese has "Reese's eggs". The brand released a video of customers in a New Jersey grocery store opening eggshells to discover peanut butter cream eggs instead.
A message saying "All pranks should be so good" was stuck in the trays. April Fool's pranks played so far include one from SodaStream, which advertised a bubble bath machine called SodaSoak, and "hare-foraged herbs." "from online grocery Fresh Direct.
Gags last year included Ikea's "low-cost airline FLIKEA", which never went to heaven, and a "slightly sparkling durian and currant drink" by Ribena, which fortunately never got on shelves.
A joke from Ikea Singapore claiming that would turn his children's playground into a haven for sitting pods with pills, horrified parents.
The mischief fell silent after it turned out to be a joke.
