Chris Kraft, the man who founded NASA Mission Control, dies at the age of 95



During his career, Kraft was a key player in the programs Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, Apollo-Soyuz and Early Space Shuttle. After leaving NASA, he continued to work as a consultant to many technology companies, including IBM and Rockwell, and received numerous awards, including the renaming of the Mission Control Center at the Johnson Space Center in his honor in 2011.
