Claiming Pikachu and Eevee in Pokémon Sword and Shield

Pokémon Sword and Shield depict Gigantamax shapes, oversized versions of Pokémon that can be activated for stronger attacks during certain battles. While all Pokémon are capable of transforming into formidable monsters, only a few have special forms. These include Pikachu and Eevee, who provide players with a backup file for free Pokémon: Let's go, Pikachu! and Let's go, Eevee!

can download.

In addition to special moves, which are only available in Gigantamax forms, certain Pokémon are also slightly reworked. (Pikachu, for example, replenishes his iconic, fat old-fashioned Pikachu look.) Pikachu and Eevee are available at the game's Wild Area Station through the game's online functionality. The players have to start from 's, Pikachu! or Let's go, Eevee! to get the Pokémon that matches your memory file. When you reach the train station, look for the two children in the corner.

Data from these games can come from any point in the game, rather than being a finished file. It's also worth noting that although the Wild Area is relatively early in the game, it probably still takes a few hours to reach it.

Sword and Shield also contain Pokémon like Charizard, Meowth and Butterfree. Meowth in its original form – not to be confused with its extra-furry Galician form – is available to players from November 15, 2019 through January 15, 2020 as Mystery Gift options as an early buy bonus.
