CNN and BBC have canceled the Venezuelan government

DirecTV, Net Uno, Intercable and Telefónica received all orders from Venezuela's government agency Conatel to block CNN. (DirecTV and CNN are both owned by AT & T.)

A BBC spokesman told CNN that the BBC Global News had also been blown up in the South American country.

Violent clashes erupted Tuesday after opposition leader Juan Guaidó called on the Venezuelans to take to the streets to stand up to President Nicolás Maduro, who opposed Maduro.

CNN.com, however, remained online in the country.

A CNN spokesman had no comment.

This is not the first time that CNN has been blocked in Venezuela.

In 2017, the Venezuelan government ordered cable operators to take CNN en Español out of the air after CNN had aired an investigation into allegedly fraudulent issuance of Venezuelan passports and visas.
