An SSRS CNN survey found that 54 percent of respondents believe Trump will lose its re-election campaign in 2020. 1
The numbers are similar to the percentage that expects former President Obama to win re-election during his first term in the White House, CNN said.
A large majority of Republicans, 79 percent, say they believe Trump will win reelection in 2020. 77 percent of Democrats say they do not expect Trump to win another term.
The poll also finds three-quarters of Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents think that their party should re-nominate Trump 2020. Only 20 percent think the Republican Party should nominate another candidate in 2020.
The survey was conducted from 22 to 25 March among 1,014 adults. The margin of error is 3.7 percent.
Trump earlier this year announced his plans for re-election in 2020.
He also announced the appointment of former digital adviser Brad Parscale – the spearhead of a pro-Trump outside the group called America First Policies – as his campaign adviser.
Trump has been talking repeatedly about being a president for eight years, and in January of last year, he filed papers with the federal election commission for his reelection committee – the same month he was inaugurated.
