The UFC community has come out against Colby Covington over comments he made to fighters Kamaru Usman and Tyron Woodley last weekend.
After defeating Woodley at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas on Saturday, Covington followed his opponent, calling him a “Marxist” and a “Communist” who “hates America” according to MMA Fighting.

He also slammed the Black Lives Matter movement as a “joke”, adding that he believes it “stands up for lifelong criminals”
The real problem for Covington, however, began when he turned his attention to Usman, a Nigerian native, during a post-game interview.
“Who did you get a call from? Did you get a call from your little tribe? Did they give you smoke signals for you? “Covington mocked MMA Fighting according to. “You’re kidding, Marty Fakenewsman!”

“That got me to – the UFC didn’t say anything about it,” welterweight candidate Leon Edwards told the website on Wednesday.
“Letting it flow like it’s normal to say and do something, and it’s not,” he continued. “Your tribe and your smoke signals and blah, blah, blah, and he calls Woodley a terrorist because of Black Lives Matter. All of these statements he makes are racist. There is no other way around that. “
Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya also competed against Covington, adding that the deeper issues lie in the “media landscape”.
“I made a joke about dropping [Yoel] Romero like the Twin Towers and everyone went crazy even if I said it was a joke and it was pretty funny, but people took it because I was offensive and dug – but I made a joke, ”he said of the Website.
TRUMP CALLS COLBY COVINGTON DURING THE POST-MATCH INTERVIEW TO CONGRATULATE HIM WINNING TYRON WOODLEY
“This guy has directly offended my culture, my brother and many other cultures and things and nobody says anything. But it only shows you a mirror. Show you a mirror. So yeah, I don’t really care. Kamaru Usman broke his jaw. “
Covington defenders say the fighter plays a character, an agitator set to improve ratings, but featherweight Hakeem Dawodu said he was still shocked about it.
“I’m a bit surprised that he can speak so freely. They know everyone can speak freely, but I was offended. It’s crazy that comments like that are creating a gap between people, ”he told MMA Fighting. “The President called and helped him. I don’t really appreciate that, and I guess it is. “
Covington, a public supporter of Donald Trump, received a call from the president in the same post-game interview in which he was chasing Usman.
“I’m proud of you, man,” said Trump. “I’m a big fan and I’m proud of you. You are tough, you have the right mind. “
Covington also sparked the wrath of the NBA community after calling LeBron James a “spineless coward”. He came out Monday to defend himself and said the Los Angeles Lakers star “couldn’t hold out 10 seconds with me”.
