Police commissioner Mick Fuller said at a press conference that it was an accidental attack in which the scene was described as one. The police said they had received calls around 2:00 pm local time when a man was walking down York Street with a knife. The commissioner said the suspect has a history of mental health problems, but added that the investigation was "live and running".
