Sen. Cory Booker, a New Jersey Democrat and current presidential candidate from 2020, released ten tax returns Wednesday night – and a financial standout compared to the other Democratic candidates.
In 2018, Booker made $ 152,639 (his US Senate salary); he paid $ 22,781 in taxes (a tax rate of 19%); and he donated $ 24,000 to charity.
His charitable donation represents just over 15% of his 2018 income, making him a Democrat candidate, who provided the largest percentage of his salary to charity.

Overall, Trump's charities have been the source of investigations, including articles by the Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold, which casts doubt on Trump's charitable contributions, and the Trump Foundation. The Trump Foundation was dissolved last year because the New York Attorney General accused "stubbornly unlawful conduct."
Cumulatively, Booker has donated charitable donations totaling approximately $ 460,000 over the last 10 years, CNN reported.
Booker's tax returns also show that most of its revenue came from royalty and private speakers by 2018. "Booker reported $ 2 million in fees from 2009 to 2014 and $ 987,077 in royalties from 2015 to 2017," said Politico.
Another difference in the tax returns from Booker? Unlike the other candidates we know, he does not file with a spouse. Booker is the actress Rosario Dawson, but he is not married.
