Do you remember how it felt when your grandparents gave something that you would find completely useless in this modern day? Maybe an encyclopedia or a pager? Well, that's not always the case, especially if that is something a 1981 Countach. Countach! based on the story of his name.
A Reddit User Eriegin is in this situation recently, having stumbled onto a Lamborghini owned by his grandparents. We can only imagine the surprise and joy when he uncovered this classic Italian masterpiece from his grandmother's camp.
The 1981 Countach formerly belonged to his late grandfather, who mentioned the car as part of his exotic car business in the eighties, as noted in the comment section of the post. However, the insurance costs for his grandfather were too high to continue the operation, so he kept the car together with many others in the garage for more than 20 years. Well, that leads to the next question: what are the other cars? We are interested.
Like the red Ferrari 308 hanging around with the Lambo. If you recognize the car, yes, it's the same model that Tom Selleck drove around in the hit 80 series, Magnum, P.I. It's one of the famous Ferraris in the late 70's and early 80's and we believe this car is so worth seeing today.
Back to Countach, it looks like the car is still working with just a little restoration or cleaning. But being 20 years old is not a good thing for an Italian supercar, so we do not count on the ability to bring it back to life. Also, it seems like it's not the Finder's call for now, again based on the comment section. And we quote:
"… But it's also unbelievable and rare to see something so beautiful (and valuable) in that condition, and if it were up to me, I'd get it started again and clean up the inside but keeping the exterior as it is, it has character and tells the story of the car that differentiates it from any other Countach, I can honestly appreciate that, more than a perfect livery. "
We like this guy thinks.
