County approves another round of SpaceX road closures
SpaceX prepares for a second round of testing at the launch site in Boca Chica Beach.
The judge of Cameron County, Eddie Treviño Jr., announced Tuesday that he has ordered the temporary closure of State Highway 4 from Oklahoma Avenue to Boca Chica Beach.
The closure is scheduled for May 28 between 2:00 pm and 10:00 pm, or alternatively, on May 29th and / or 30th, according to a press release.
The first round of SpaceX testing in Boca Chica Beach included a three-week shutdown in March, as State Highway 4 underwent multiple closures while SpaceX tested the prototype Starship Hopper.
These tests were completed in early April when SpaceX launched the Starship Hopper's Raptor engine and successfully completed a short "hopping".
