Humboldt County Joint Information Center press release:
Ten new cases of COVID-19 were reported today. The total number of cases in Humboldt County is 255.
Today was the first time that a single daily report was in double digits. Dr. Frankovich, Humboldt District Health Officer, said it wasn’t surprising to hit this milestone. “We are no longer going back to periods with zero case numbers as in the past. This suggests that much remains to be done to ensure that people understand the increasing risk of exposure outside the home or when meeting others, ”she said. “Public health is all of us right now. Every single person in our community has a role in limiting the transmission of this virus. “
Dr. Frankovich encouraged all residents to re-commit to preventive measures that increase security. This includes wearing facewear, avoiding meetings with non-household members, eliminating unnecessary travel, washing hands regularly, and maintaining a physical distance of at least two meters.
