Damage The Minnesota pipeline leads to a spill of 8,000 liters (suspected ID)

COTTONWOOD, Minn. – Authorities said a person in the Western Minnesota Pipeline played a role Wednesday night.

The Lyons Sheriff's office said they have identified a suspect who has caused the 8-inch hole in the Magellan Midstream Pipeline. The damage spilled 8,400 gallons of diesel fuel, some of which were dumped in a drainage ditch.

Officers responsible for clean containment and recovery operations along the drainage ditch remain their main focus. Slight remains of petroleum sheen have passed through the containment areas along the drainage trench into the Yellow Medicine River.

The company says it affects about 75 people, including emergency workers, federal and state regulators, remediation experts, excavators, and Magellan employees on site for cleanup and investigation.

A minor violation has been reported ̵

The incident was referred for consideration of charges to the district attorney of Lyon. [19659008] (function (d, s, id) {
