Cowboys defensive lineman David Irving is being investigated for several alleged cases of domestic violence, Frisco police has confirmed WFAA-8 in Dallas.
Irving was investigated for assault, unlawful restraint and attack from suffocation or obstruction of breath, Frisco PD said. Irving's girlfriend reported on Saturday evening on two different occasions about alleged incidents or incidents.
There were no arrests.
News of Frisco PD came after a bizarre and disturbing series of tweets from Irving's verified Twitter account on Monday morning It was alleged that Irving had beaten his girlfriend and left her without a home.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed to US TODAY Sports in an email that the league will deal with the matter.
The flood of tweets also included allegations of drug testing failures.
Irving claimed his social media accounts were from his ex-girlfriend after the tweet storm Hacked
The series of tweets began with a post from its verified Twitter account @ Caliboy_95 and said, "David Irving goes to jail, says well to his footballing career."
What? There followed a series of allegations that contained domestic violence and "kicked his girlfriend to the curb". His report later published tweets alleging that the allegations could be substantiated with video and audio evidence.
Irving turned to Facebook to address the alleged hack in a public post.
"Excuse the posts," he wrote. "My ex hacked me for throwing her out of cheating … again lol."
He did not respond to the specific allegations and did not respond to WFAA's request for further comment on the allegations.
In what appeared Irving and another tweeted simultaneously on his Twitter account Monday morning, several tweets claimed that his Facebook, Instagram, email and iCloud accounts were also hacked.
"Nope his [girlfriend] is on it," read another tweet.
"No Hacks [here]", read another
Many of the tweets were deleted by late Monday morning. One who was posted at 8:12 am read: "Profile hacked".
The Cowboys were aware of the social media activity and were trying to get to the bottom of the Star Telegram 's Mac Angels
While Irving was in Iowa State, he was accused His girlfriend, who is the mother of her daughter, attacked. She later demanded that all fees be dropped. Irving was started by the Iowa State Team after several missions with the law.
Irving was suspended for the first four games of the 2017-18 season due to a failed drug test last low season.
