Former NBA boss headed by David Stern A lengthy interview with Sports Illustrated in which he spoke at length about why he had rejected the trade that Chris Paul sent from the pelicans to the Lakers in 2011.

He also took a shot at Pelican's GM Dell Demps and how he could lose Anthony Davis too.

SI Interview Star:

There was a trade Dell Demps wanted us to agree with, and I said no no, but he had told Daryl Morey and Mitch Kupchak he had the authority to do that and he did not, "Stern said of the Houston Rockets General Manager and the former Los Angeles Lakers GM." I said no. We have just decided to lock out and want to approve a basketball business?

Despite a wave of heavy reaction, Stern did not waver in his decision.

"[Demps] Kevin Martin and Luis [trade Paul to the Lakers for] had agreed Scola or something, and I said we can do better," said Stern, "… and the next trade was [to the LA Clippers for] Eric Gordon and Al -Farouq Aminu and what we thought was a really good draft pick, the 10th pick, Austin Rivers, at least these three and somebody else [center Chris Kaman]. "But Dell Demps is a lousy general manager and none of these players is He is currently on the team, and he could lose Anthony Davis, "Stern said.

You must love David Stern, as he was never one to hold back.
