FORECAST IN DETAIL
Someone forgot to tell Mama Nature about this "meteorological source". Today brings a delicate winter storm with it, ranging from snow and sleet to cold rain over a relatively short distance from north to south through the area. The end result, in our opinion, is not much winter influence on the roads in the immediate subway area, but the chance that smooth spots occur north and west of the Beltway. After the storm, the winter digs in by the middle of the week with far below average temperatures.

Today (Sunday): Irregular light snow or sleet could develop later in the morning, but with little consequence, since temperatures in the mid-30s will fluctuate to near 40 or sleet is likely in the afternoon, with something Rain, which is mixed by DC to the south and east. Within the Beltway, as well as the south and east, temperatures in the mid-1930s should limit the impact on the roads, with a slight accumulation mainly on grass. In our immediate northern and western suburbs in the districts of Fairfax, Montgomery and Howard, a stronger coating of the turf could be observed, but hardly any effects on the road could be expected. Further north and west, the counties of Loudoun and Frederick may see snow from 1 to 3 inches, with smooth spots possible in the late afternoon, as readings fall in the lower 30s. Trust : Low-Medium
Tonight: Most of the immediate area was supposed to be in a cold rain in the evening. However, in the northern parts of Loudoun, Montgomery and Howard County and the northern and western points, there may still be snow or sleet, with an additional 1 to 3 inches being possible and smooth spots being possible at temperatures in the low 30s. The precipitation was supposed to rejuvenate everywhere after midnight, with lows in the upper 20s to low 30s. Trust: Low-Medium

Morning (Monday): With no freezing conditions overnight, we do not expect any extended icy conditions for the shuttle service on Monday morning. However, some smooth spots and school delays are possible, mainly north and west of the district. Otherwise, winds will come from the northwest, with some gusts near 25 miles per hour. Temperatures are kept in check, although the sky is partly sunny, with peaks in the upper 30s to low 40s. Confidence: Mid High
Tomorrow Night: We are entering a much colder night with soothing wind and partly cloudy skies. Overnight, lows fall in the upper teens and low 20s. Confidence: Mid High
A LOOK AHEAD
If you look out the window, Tuesday seems like a pretty nice day. And in some ways it's mostly sunny and light. It's just that our temperatures are well below normal and only in the mid- to upper-30s. You can not win all. Overnight it goes back to brrrrrrr territory, as the depths fall back into the teenager with mostly clear skies. Thank Heaven, who invented the seat heater. Confidence: Mid High
We reached the pinnacle of these cold spells in early March to Wednesday . In many places, it can be difficult to achieve freezing, with maximum levels only in the upper 20s to low 30s. Even on a partly to mostly sunny day in March. Yowza! Winds from the northwest could also be a little greasier, making them feel more like the teens and 20s. Exactly what we needed … Confidence: Mid High
