LA Clippers Center DeAndre Jordan has withdrawn the player's $ 24.1 million player option for his next season contract Way cleared free agent deal with the Dallas Mavericks, said League sources ESPN.
Jordan and the Mavericks are not allowed to discuss or negotiate a deal until July 1
Jordan had until 23:59 ET ET Friday to decide whether the option should be exercised or not.
Jordan, who turns 30 on July 21, had all 10 of his sp ielzeiten spent at the Clippers. He averaged 12 points and a career-high 15.2 rebounds per game in the past season.
The last time Jordan was a freelance agent who re-signed the All-NBA Standout with the Clippers three times, in 2015, when he was in the midst of an intense back-and-forth between Clippers and Mavericks
After agreeing to sign a $ 80 million four-year deal with the Mavericks, Jordan changed his mind with the help of Clippers teammates such as Chris Paul and Coach Doc Rivers and returned after a four-year, $ 87 million deal LA back. Rivers, Paul and some of Jordan's former teammates visited his home in Houston to convince him.
Now Jordan is free again to join the Mavericks or another team as a free agent.
In a year, the Clippers & # 39; Original Lob City group is gone and the roster has been redesigned. Last June, the Clippers exchanged Paul for the Houston Rockets. Then, after re-signing Blake Griffin in a freelance agency, they distributed him to the Detroit Pistons in January.
The Clippers were preparing for Jordan's opportunity to continue their long-standing time in the middle by buying the center Marcin Gortat in a deal with the Washington Wizards for Austin Rivers earlier this week. Gortat, 34, has one more year to $ 13.6 million and gives the Clippers a veteran starter in the middle.
