A Delta flight from LaGuardia Airport was forced to make an emergency landing in Dulles because, according to a passenger in New York, the plane had "left a tire".

The aircraft made an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport in the early afternoon. All 46 passengers and four crew members were safely deplaned. The airline transported the passengers the rest of the way to Richmond – about 120 miles – by charter bus.
Jason Chow, a passenger aboard the flight, later tweeted that the plane "left a tire" in New York City, along with a photo of the plane seems to be missing

Chow also thanked the crew and pilot of the aircraft for how they handled the landing.
ExpressJet has since issued a statement regarding the incident as well as an apology to the passengers.
"ExpressJet Airlines Flight 5507, as Delta Connection from LaGuardia to Richmond, Virginia, voted to redirect Washington-Dulles International Airport because of a reported problem with one of the aircraft's wheels," ExpressJet spokesman Jarek Beem said in a statement F get ox news. "The safety of our customers and our crew is always our top priority and we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause our customers," he later added on behalf of the company.
