DeMar DeRozan enrages the Raptors to block him by swapping him for the Spurs

After DeMoz DeRozan was sold to the San Antonio Spurs for Kawhi Leonard, there was support for the star which signed 2016 with the Raptors. DeRozan spent the last nine years in Toronto, and his name is synonymous with Raptor's basketball. From DeRozan right after the trade, however, all that was there was an Instagram story that said "there is no loyalty in this game". But DeRozan broke his silence in an interview with ESPN Chris Haynes and opened up about the trade and the time before that.

More about Derozan

When asked after Raptors President Masai Ujiri was accused of "misunderstanding" DeRozan said that this was not the case.

"Um, no, because we talked all summer through the conversations he had with my agent ̵

1; you know, it seemed like I was in the middle of talking to the team," said DeRozan. "… to have the opportunity to make something special again, you know, so that was my attitude and everyone else around me."

The Raptors were first in the Eastern Conference last year with a 59-23 record before being swept by the Cavaliers in the second round of the playoffs. He added that DeRozan did not feel respected by the organization for everything he gave the Raptors.

"I felt as if I had not been treated with what I sacrificed for nine years, with the respect I believed I deserved." he said when asked how he was treated by Ujiri. "… I'm not saying," you do not have to swap me, or … just let me know that something happens because I've sacrificed everything. "

DeRozan took less than the highest mark when he signed his extension in 2016 and said, "I did not want to (a) get stuck in a jam where we could not help the team by bringing in others."

Immediately after trading, DeRozan said he was blind.

"Man, I was really stuck," he said. "I could not think for a second, because it just did not feel real, I did not have any indication that it was anything else … So, to beat me out of the blue at midnight, like, Come on."

DeRozan will join a Spurs team to remain competitive in the Western Conference. While the Spurs do not have the core of the Warriors or LeBron James on their list, they do have some talented players. They made the playoffs last season without their team's best player. DeRozan will play under Gregg Popovich, as the Spurs are trying to cause a sensation in the West.
