Destiny 2 's Season of Drifter Updates appeared this morning, bringing Gambit a new twist on Annual Pass players and a series of balance changes.
As usual, the new season comes with content with exotics that players can collect. The new Exotic armor pieces are class-specific gloves for hunters, titans and sorcerers.
There are also two new exotic weapons this season, including the returning Thorn Cannon.
The only hidden weapon in the collection is Thorn. His perks have already been extracted from data and are slightly different from the last available.
Thorn's exotic advantage, Mark of the Devourer, causes shots to pierce the target and cause damage over time. When Thorn kills enemies, they drop the remains onto the ground, filling up the magazine and making Mark of the Devourer stronger.
Bungie adds Thorn on an exotic quest that begins on March 1
The other new weapon is Arbalest, a kinetic linear fusion rifle. This is the first kinetic fusion rifle in Destiny 2 . In addition to its unique slot placement, Arbalest has an advantage called Compounding Force. The bonus allows him to fire bullets instead of energy beams, inflicting heavy damage on enemy shields.
Nobody knows how to get Arbalest or if it's even available in the game. Players will probably get their hands on it this season.
The exotic hunter gloves are the Liar Handshake. They have a bonus called Cross Counter. When players use their Arc Melee ability, or when enemies hit them with a melee, they receive a buff to track a powerful opponent who also heals them.
The exotic gauntlets of Titan are fortress and have the advantage of clenched fist. When players guard with a sword, they increase their movement speed. Guard does not drain any more ammo, and when attacked, the player is healed.
The sorcerer's exotic gauntlets are Getaway Artist and come with the Dynamic Duo Advantage. If you hold down the Garnet button, players can consume their Arc Grenade and turn it into a powerful Arc Soul tower that follows them for a short time.
Players can find these gloves by performing random activities or killing enemies. Exotics have a higher chance of falling if they receive powerful rewards.
While Bungie might add more exotics in future patches, it is likely that this will be the final batch until the season of opulence. Bungie has scheduled the release of The Season of Opulence for June this year.
