Wait, she is * not * dead?

Devil May Cry is a series known for their stylish action, but beyond robbery, swordplay, and royal watch, there is a story to it. So when you enter DMC for the first time with Devil May Cry 5, the whole story is summed up as quickly as we can rightfully do.

The Backstory

First of all, this is Dante: [1

He's a demon-shaped red cloak, with gun violence, death, rocket riding, soaring son of a pilot, or he would be if he were described by Ric Flair (WHOO!).

Actually, he is a son of Sparda, the legendary Dark Knight, who, in the war between the human world and the demonic world, went against his own kind of help to humans: After defeating the demon king Mundus, Sparda closed the gate that the For a while, everything was great: Sparda was a benevolent ruler for about 2,000 years, attaining a human form and a fancy. I am in love with one Woman named Eva. The two h Twins, Dante and Virgil, which he gave in each case in half of his special amulet.

Unfortunately, Sparda dies at some point (we do not know exactly when or how) Sparda, and here it starts to make a turn. Mundus & # 39; demons return to the human world and kill Eve, leaving Sparda's two sons orphaned and left alone.

Devil May Cry 3

Fast forward to the start of Devil May Cry 3, where a young Dante is just starting out as yet unnamed demon hunting. He is approached by a man named Arkham, who offers him an invitation. Well, it's really a challenge for Vergil to meet him on a tower called Temen-ni-Gru.

  Lady

Dante fights his way through the tower and meets some very well-known characters: a joker named "Jester" and a lady named "Lady" who wants to take revenge on the man who killed her mother has killed. All this culminates with a plethora of revelations that all hit at the same time: The fool is really Arkham, Lady is actually Mary, his daughter and Dante and Vergil learns that they are sons of Sparda (but did you know that?)

Arkham reveals his intention to open the door to the demonic world and demand the sword of Sparda, the Force Edge Fortunately for him, Arkham can not handle this kind of force and turns into a coarse violet spot. Dante and Vergil work together to finally knock down Arkham, Lady finishes the work and then the two brothers have one last fight over who can keep Dad's shiny necklace. Dante wins, Vergil remains stuck in the demon world with his amulet, and Dante finally finds a name for his new business …

Devil May Cry

A little later, a woman named Trish comes through the doors of Dante's business with one Job: Travel to Mallet Island to put a stop to Mundus, who plans his grand return to power after all these years. Dante sets out on the island, fights his way through a bunch of doll monsters, a nightmare called Nightmare (they're really good at naming things in this series, right?) And a mysterious swordsman named Nelo Angelo.

As it turns out, Nelo Angelo is actually Vergil. After he got stuck in the demon world, he took on a fight against Mundus, but lost him and became a thrall under his command. After defeating Nelo Angelo for the last time, Dante conquered the other half of his father's amulet, eventually realizing what had happened to his long-lost brother.

  Trish

Nelo Angelo was not the only one who had a secret – Trish is an agent of Mundus all the time. She betrays Dante, tries to kill him, almost fails and dies. but he is saved by Dante because he has a face that looks like his mother: I know how … sweet? Dante's heroism causes a change of heart in Trish and if Dante is to be killed during one of his Mundus confrontations she sacrifices herself to save him, and Dante activates his "Christian Bale Batman Super Serious Mode" by hounding Mundus in a wild Bossfight defeated.

Dante puts Trish to rest amulet and flees from Mallet Island. Of course, Mundus returns for another round, but is finally crushed thanks to the combined effort of Dante and the notable dead Trish. The two flee in an airplane, exchange nonsensical dialogues and the credits roll and bring us to …

Devil May Cry 2

We will not spend much time here, because frankly, there is less talk about DMC2 [19659024] Lucia “src =” https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2015/05/27/contentplaceholderpng-967b4c.png “data-original =” https://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress /stg.ign.com/2019/03/Lucia-720×405.jpg “width =” 720 “height =” 405 “/>

Dante meets a lady named Lucia, the two of them go to Dumary Island, where they face each other Arius, a businessman who wants to release a powerful demon god called Argosax, Dante throws down a pile of coins and defeated Arius and Argosax, and Dante drives his motorcycle to hell.

Devil May Cry 4

Devil May Cry 4 illuminates a new character, Nero, who begins the game in the hunt for Dante after he (Dante) has crashed a party of the Order of the Sword and his leader, Sanctus, (SwOrder?) is a religious sect that reveres Sparda, but we eventually learn that their true nature is far more disgraceful when their members go through "ascension ceremonies" that actually make them demons.

Sanctus is brought back to life Thanks to an ascension ceremony, he arranges a plot to activate the "Redeemer", a giant statue in Sparda's picture, with which he wants to conquer the world. However, to activate the statue, they need Sparda's blood. What, by accident, Nero has! For reasons that are not really explained … but we can speculate that it probably has something to do with his devil-arm, who has an obvious connection to Vergil.

However, Sanctus captures Nero, locks him up inside Redeemer, and from then on it is up to Dante to trace Nero's steps, to rescue him, and together they bring down Sanctus and the Redeemer once and for all. From here we look at Devil May Cry 5.

Thank you for making it so far! We looked a lot, but hopefully you are familiar with DMC's knowledge and ready for DMC5.
