To submit a crime tip in the city of Dickson and Dickson County.
The authorities are looking for a suspect According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a deputy police chief of the Dickson County Sheriff's was shot dead on Thursday morning.
The Humphreys County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as Steven Wiggins, described by the police as a white man with bald brown hair. He stands 6 feet 1 inch and weighs about 220 pounds.
Wiggins is considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.  Residents and motorists are advised to avoid the area along Tidwell Switch near the intersection with Bear Creek Valley Road on the Dickson-Hickman County line, while law enforcement agencies are looking for Wiggins.
Officials said the suspect had been involved in an early morning altercation with the MP after a vehicle was reported stolen in Kingston Springs.
The identity of the deputy has not yet been published.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is on its way to the scene, authorities said.
