It has been quite a while since Digimon was last seen on a Nintendo console outside of Japan, although the franchise has seen a renaissance on other systems in recent years. Fortunately, that will change soon as Bandai Namco has announced that a new game entitled Digimon Survive will be heading to the switch next year.
Pictures and details are currently light, but thanks to Ryokutya2089 and Twitter users BlackKite we know a few key things. The game will be a strategy RPG coming from different genres, with battles taking place on square lattices and energy management being crucial. You're the eighth student with an Agumon partner, and the dialogue comes with 2D imagery that may resemble a visual novel in which you can make decisions that could change history and even affect digivolution. Finally, there are point-and-click style investigation scenes.
Hopefully we'll learn more soon, but now it's good to know that Digimon is back at Nintendo!
