DERBY, Kan. At Field Station: Dinosaurs in Derby, you'll see more than 30 animatronic, lifelike creatures from the prehistoric past.
The dinosaur theme park will open this weekend in Derby and before that the crews have prepared for the expected 10,000 visitors this week.
This preparation includes the processing of a five-page checklist. This list includes everything from cleaning up to completing the dinosaurs.
"We've worked with the best paleontologists to make sure the way they're built is as close as possible to what scientists currently think are the size they would be," says Field Station: Dinosaur Park Manager Lon Smith.
The educational theme park also features Jurassic (miniature golf), a rope garden at the Challenge Dome and various educational shows that play throughout the day. The park is for children ages 3 to 1
"I think they'll just be intrigued and excited," says Smith.
