You are solely responsible for your comments and by using TribLive.com you agree to ours
We moderate comments. Our goal is to provide a contentual commentary for a general readership. By screening contributions, we provide an area where readers can exchange intelligent and informed comments that improve the quality of our messages and information.
While most comments are published when they are topic-related and not abusive, moderating decisions are subjective. We will do it as carefully and consistently as possible. Due to the size of the reader comments, we can not review individual moderation decisions with readers.
We value thoughtful comments that represent a range of views that are expressed quickly and politely. We strive to protect discussions from repeated comments from the same reader or from different readers.
We follow the same tastes as the daily paper. A few things we will not tolerate: personal attacks, obscenity, vulgarity, swear words (including explosive devices and letters followed by hyphens), commercial advertising, imitations, incoherence, proselytisation, and SCREAMING. Do not add URLs to websites.
Comments are not edited. They are either approved or deleted. We reserve the right to edit an article cited or commented on in an article. In this case, spelling and punctuation can be corrected.
We welcome strong opinions and criticism of our work, but we do not want comments to sink into discussions about our policies and will moderate accordingly.
We appreciate it when readers and people quoted in articles or blog posts point out factual or emphatic flaws and investigate allegations. But these suggestions should be sent
by email. In order not to distract other readers, we do not post comments that indicate a correction. Instead, corrections are made in a blog post or article.
